Product Summary
The JCB 140X LC is a 14-tonne tracked excavator and the latest addition to JCB’s acclaimed X Series range. Born from four years of intensive hydraulic, electronic and electrical development — and thousands of hours of extreme endurance testing — it’s a machine engineered to be as tough as it looks.
At its heart sits the JCB Dieselmax 448 Stage V engine, producing 81kW (109hp) and delivering an 11% increase in bucket tearout force over its predecessors. A hydraulic regeneration system recycles oil across the cylinders, resulting in faster cycle times and meaningfully lower fuel consumption across a working day.
Inside the CommandPlus cab, the operator experience has been designed around real-world feedback from operators across the globe. The result is the quietest cab in its class at just 67 dB(A), paired with an industry-leading Grammer seat, seat-mounted joystick pods that move with the operator, a 7″ colour monitor, Bluetooth radio, and an HVAC system with 11 targeted vents. It’s a workspace that reduces fatigue and keeps operators comfortable across long shifts in any conditions.
Built to last, every machine passes through 1,232 validation checks and is tested in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 55°C. The fully-welded X-frame undercarriage, robot-welded dig end, EPD corrosion coating and double-skinned doors all speak to a level of build quality rarely seen in this class.
Keeping the machine working is just as important as the machine itself. Extended service intervals — hydraulic filter at 2,000 hours, engine oil at 500 hours — combined with grouped greasing points and ground-level access to key components mean less time in the workshop and more time on site.
Safety and connectivity come as standard too. A rear-view camera, ROPS structure, and immobiliser with remote pin code management provide peace of mind on any job site, while JCB LiveLink telematics delivers real-time insight into fuel use, machine location, and service scheduling.

Frequently asked questions
We can get one of our fitters out to you to replace a track. The cost to do this depends on the time to do the job and distance. Costing anywhere from £30 + VAT to a local job for a small machine up to £100 + VAT for an 8 tonne machine. Machines over 8 tonne would cost more.
We can arrange for a fitter to attend but this cost would be charged to you. The cost to repair a puncture is usually around £60 + VAT
Our machines will be delivered to you full of fuel. Your hire cost does not include fuel unless you specifically ask us to include it. You should return the machine full of fuel. If we have to refuel, we will charge you to refill the tank. Ask us about fuel bowsers for short or long-term hire contracts which will save you time and money.
We don’t usually charge if the machine receives minor scratches, but serious damage such as dents, scratches to rams, panels or other parts would, unfortunately, result in a repair bill.
We operate under the CPA terms & conditions. All customers must abide by these & it’s assumed that if you hire from us you will abide by them.
